You are aware that several districts in Maharashtra are facing severe drought condition. Maharashtra State Government has officially declared 14778 villages as drought affected villages. There is acute shortage of water in entire Marathwada region and few districts from Vidarbha, Western Maharashtra, Khandesh. Many voluntary organizations have started relief work in this area. R.S.S. Jankalyan Samiti also initiated several projects in drought affected area. Jankalyan Samiti has decided to provide Water Tanks for storage of water in 250 padas, maintain 25 cattle feed depot in 7 districts. Along with tackling current drought issue, steps also have to be taken to avoid such situations in future. Along with a few organisations working in the field of water conservation, the Jankalyan Samiti has come up with a plan to build barrages as well as widening, deepening and rejuvenation of rivers in 7 districts (22 Projects). There are many organizations, companies and generous people are coming forward to share their responsibility by contributing in projects started by R.S.S. Jankalyan Samiti.
